Hello, Eileen. Thanks for reading my post!

You can find all of the specifications for the iPod touch at http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/specs.html.

It is always difficult to estimate the minimum amount of memory you will need for any computing device. Memory requirements are highly dependent upon the mix of music, games and other applications you will use. Games use a relatively large amount of memory. When I buy or recommend computing devices I follow a very simple rule of thumb: don't get the least amount of memory available, and don't get the highest amount available, unless you have some reason to know that you will need more or less than a medium amount. If I apply that rule to your situation, I will recommend the 32 GB device. Another reason for not purchasing the minimum amount of memory on an iPod Touch is that you cannot increase the memory after your purchase.

It is possible to play games using the web browser that is built into the iPod Touch, which is Safari. Those games will not take any memory space on your iPod Touch because they come directly from the Internet. However, they will not be as elegant as games that have been especially designed for the Apple devices.

The iPod Touch does, of course, have a camera, which can record still images or video.

Wi-Fi should be available on your home wireless network and is also available free of charge in many public areas.

I'm not aware of any specific sources for senior citizens related to the use of the iPod. However, there are many iPod tutorials available on the Internet for general audiences. Based on your comments and questions I'm sure you will find many of them quite understandable and helpful.

I am very sensitive to the issues of technology costs for senior citizens. I am, myself, such a person. However, I urge you to at least consider spending the extra money to purchase an iPad. The iPad is currently just a larger version of the iPod, but it does not have a built-in camera. The next version of iPad is anticipated in early 2011, and may well include a camera. You can see from the rest of my blog that I am a big advocate for the iPad for seniors.

Please let us know what you decide to do. I believe you will be happy with any of the Apple products, but you are on the right track to be asking lots of questions!

Hi..I am a 68 year old female who would love to have an I pod touch. I do not want a phone because it would cost too much for a monthly plan. I do love to play games. I also would like to have a camera . I love all the bells and whistles with apple ipod but not sure I would know what to do with all of them. Is an 8g enough or do I need a 32g. I would like wifi if it doesn,t require a plan. I do have a wireless home computer. I don.t necessarily have to have the apple touch and would be open to other brands if they they are affordable and as good as apple. Could you recommend a site that tells seniors in a simple way how to operate an ipod. Thanks you very much, Eileen

I am a media student, studying at UAL - LCC in London, and we are doing a research on How internet can benefit the over 60 generation. We are really impressed with your work and would be amazing if we could include it in our project!
We would like to ask for your participation - if you may, by answering some questions concerning this topic. We would greatly appreciate your help!
Many Thanks!
